Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and empathetic Billing Customer Service Representative to join our team at blithequark. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient claims, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring that all billing inquiries are addressed with professionalism and sensitivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review patient claims on an individual basis, investigating and managing credits, refunds, and payments to ensure accuracy and fairness.
  • Manage the billing hotline, providing timely and effective support to patients who reach out via this channel, ensuring that their concerns are heard and addressed promptly.
  • Make outbound soft calls to patients to confirm receipt of invoices, respond to questions, and make reasonable efforts to collect amounts due, taking into consideration the patient's individual financial situation and circumstances.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through clear and compassionate communication via telephone and in writing with patients, internal team members, and clients, fostering a culture of empathy and understanding.
  • Effectively manage time to meet departmental service levels, assist colleagues within the unit as needed, and contribute to the overall goal of improved patient care and satisfaction.

Essential Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a role involving patient bill resolution, demonstrating an understanding of the complexities of healthcare billing and the importance of patient-centered care.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software systems as required.
