About the Role
As a Senior Analyst - Financial Planning and Reporting, you will be an integral part of Verizon's FPAS team, driving business growth through strategic financial planning, analysis, and reporting. You'll leverage your expertise to tell the story behind the numbers, providing actionable insights that inform key business decisions. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your FP&A skills, leadership abilities, and business acumen while making a tangible impact on Verizon's success.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform subject matter expertise and ad-hoc analysis, identifying variance drivers and developing financial plans that drive business outcomes.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial planning, reporting, and analyses, providing critical insights to business stakeholders.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams and business partners to build a network, acquire advanced business and technical acumen, and drive collaborative decision-making.
- Identify improvement opportunities and execute projects that leverage digital tools, such as dashboards, data workflow creation, and system integration, to enhance financial planning and analysis.
- Actively participate in the cultural and professional development of FPAS as a world-class organization through mentor/mentee relationships and various activities.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Three or more years of relevant work experience in financial planning, analysis, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
- Experience leveraging digital tools, including Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, Looker, ThoughtSpot, Alteryx, Knime, Power Query, SQL, Python, or R.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, having one or more of the following qualifications will make you an even more competitive candidate:
- A Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting, and analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes.
- Knowledge of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and descriptive and predictive analysis.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Google Suite.
