Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, aligning with curriculum standards and catering to diverse learning needs.
- Teach students in a specialized subject area, utilizing effective instructional methods and techniques to promote academic achievement.
- Continuously evaluate student progress, using a range of assessment tools and methods to inform instruction and drive improvement.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, fostering rapport, inter-relationships, self-discipline, and a positive self-image among students.
- Maintain control of assigned classes, handling discipline independently and ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Supervise students throughout the academic day, providing guidance and support to ensure their safety, health, and welfare.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree (or higher) from an accredited educational institution.
- Hold a valid state teaching certification in English/Language Arts, or be eligible for certification.
- Meet the education and licensure requirements as outlined in the approved job category for P.L. 95-561.
- Possess a valid state driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working with Native American students or in a culturally diverse educational setting.
- Advanced degree or specialized training in English/Language Arts or a related field.
- Proven track record of academic achievement and student progress.
