About the position

Responsibilities

  • Deliver online course content and engage with students through the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Facilitate best practices in student learning and engagement through effective communication and interactive assignments.
  • Utilize the LMS for course administration, including updates, exams, grades, and tracking participation.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Maintain communication with program leadership and faculty team, participating in course meetings.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to stay updated with best practices in online education.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing from a nationally accredited institution for undergraduate-level teaching.
  • Appropriate level graduate degree in nursing or related field for graduate-level teaching, with a master's in nursing if the terminal degree is in a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent part-time online asynchronous teaching experience in higher education.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Blackboard.
  • Proficiency with multimedia tools and educational technologies.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage course and time effectively.
  • Active RN license in Massachusetts.

Nice-to-haves

  • National Certification in Online Learning (e.g., Quality Matters, Online Learning Consortium).
  • Certification in online teaching or e-learning through a learning management system.
