Adult Evening Education Coordinator
About the position
Responsibilities
• Assist in the planning and implementation of goals and objectives for adult evening education programs.
• Review applications, conduct interviews, and recommend staff for hire; provide orientation for new hires and monitor instructor/staff performance through regular evaluations.
• Prepare documentation for the initiation of classes, schedule dates, rooms, and instructors, and ensure accuracy of the class schedule.
• Monitor existing course offerings and recommend additions, changes, or deletions; coordinate the development of curriculum, course outlines, and necessary instructional materials.
• Communicate with area workforce boards (MassHire) and career centers to assess local labor market needs and align course offerings accordingly.
• Coordinate with Pathfinder RVTHS administration and staff regarding course offerings and utilization of classroom and technical program areas.
• Prepare marketing materials and literature for distribution; coordinate social media and website postings to advertise program offerings effectively.
• Demonstrate an understanding of high-quality teaching practices and effective classroom management techniques.
• Review and assess needs for equipment, supplies, and instructional materials; recommend purchases in line with the program budget.
• Propose, monitor, and adhere to the program budget in collaboration with Pathfinder RVTHS administration.
• Provide tools and support for faculty and staff to monitor and analyze student and class data; initiate strategies for program improvement based on findings.
• Assume other responsibilities as assigned to support the overall mission of the adult education program.
Requirements
• Relevant education and experience in program coordination, adult learning, or a related field are required.
• Experience in marketing or outreach is highly desirable, with a proven ability to promote educational programs effectively.
• Understanding of supervision principles, including employee training and performance evaluation.
• Ability to develop innovative program offerings tailored to adult learners, along with ability to perform program evaluation and assessment.
• Proficient in standard office software and familiar with technology tools and platforms.
• Experience in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred, with the ability to manage budgets and financial reporting.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and foster collaboration.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing needs in a dynamic adult educational environment.
