About the position
Responsibilities
• Dispatches drivers to calls as they are received, balancing cost and customer satisfaction.
• Works with sites and the service department to optimize routes based on customer needs.
• Determines daily driver staffing levels for responsiveness and productivity.
• Assigns routes and service tickets to appropriate drivers throughout the day and for the next day.
• Handles incoming calls and emails from customer service and sales departments regarding pick-up or delivery requests.
• Initiates communication with customers while drivers are on-site to resolve issues.
• Troubleshoots and resolves potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues.
• Ensures same-day service on missed pick-ups by managing routing and tracking driver movement.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or G.E.D (accredited).
• Six months of relevant work experience in a team setting with effective communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment with excellent organizational skills.
• Computer skills with the ability to handle multiple programs and systems.
• Effective and professional communication via email, telephone, and 2-way devices.
• Desire and ability to learn Waste Management proprietary software applications.
