Tech Startup Fellow (Internship) - Technology and Programming

This position is a 100% remote position. College credit available and possible stipend. You must have unlimited access to a personal laptop or desktop computer, internet connection, with the required software applications and/or mobile apps to be considered for this role. This is a 3-month fellowship beginning Sept 15 - Dec 15 working approximately 5 - 10 hours per week. We’re looking for a sharp, adaptable Tech Fellow to help bring our products to life through frontend development, backend support, and hands-on innovation at the intersection of culture and technology. General Responsibilities • Collaborate directly with the founder to design and implement user-facing features using React and Next.js. • Write clean, maintainable TypeScript and JavaScript code across both frontend and backend systems. • Support backend development tasks using Express (Node.js) and occasionally Python-based services. • Assist with AWS infrastructure, such as setting up and managing Lambda functions, S3 buckets, or EC2 instances. • Debug, test, and optimize application performance across browsers, devices, and edge cases. • Document key features and workflows, making it easy for others (technical or non-technical) to understand how things work. • Work independently and manage time effectively, especially when working asynchronously or on flexible hours. You’re a Great Fit if…. You’re comfortable getting hands-on with Next.js, React, TypeScript, and occasionally diving into Express, Python, or AWS when needed. You enjoy learning in fast-paced environments, and you're open to experimenting, debugging, and iterating quickly. You’re willing to engage with other members of the fellowship via Slack or Whatsapp. You are interested in innovative workflow automation platforms, such as n8n. Work Qualifications & Necessities Experience with Github, VS Code (or Cursor), JIRA Deep interest in organization, innovation and automation – WE WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER Attention to detail and willingness to learn Access to various video applications (like Zoom, Google Meet, Slack) for meetings and collaboration Final capstone group presentation required at end of fellowship.
