Job Title: Senior Audio Support Engineer & System Administrator - Los Angeles

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our award-winning team in Los Angeles, providing top-notch technical support and expertise in post-production facilities. As a Senior Audio Support Engineer & System Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems, collaborating with artists, creative directors, and management to deliver exceptional results.
In this exciting role, you will:
- Provide high-level front-line technical support for all post-production facilities, resolving complex issues and ensuring seamless operations.
- Research, diagnose, and troubleshoot technical problems, identifying solutions and implementing fixes to minimize downtime.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, artists, and management, providing training, knowledge sharing, and consultation to ensure optimal system performance.
- Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs to identify areas for improvement.
- Orchestrate workstation management, imaging, and configuration using JAMF and Altiris, ensuring efficient and secure system operations.
- Document knowledge in the form of knowledge base tech notes and articles, sharing expertise and best practices with the team.
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience in the audio industry as an engineer, with expertise in Avid Pro Tools, S6 consoles, Nexis storage, and signal routing.
- Knowledge of storage systems, including Quantum, Isilon, and Avid, as well as post-production workflows, including editing, audio mixing, VFX, motion graphics, and print.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively document problems and their resolutions.
- Proficiency in MacOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with reading technical drawings and documentation.
- Understanding of room acoustical layout for stereo and 5.1 mixing, speaker SPL calibration, and room tuning.
- Ability to prioritize decisions when given incomplete or conflicting information, with a high degree of self-direction and ability to manage multiple concurrent challenges.
