We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at The Walt Disney Company. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving business growth by designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data systems and pipelines.
The Disney Data Science and Insights (DDSI) team is responsible for supporting clients across The Walt Disney Company, including Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution, Studios Content, General Entertainment Content, and ESPN and Sports Content. We use innovation, data science, engineering, analytics, and econometric modeling to investigate opportunities, shape business decisions, and drive business value.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will collaborate with our Studios or Business Innovation colleagues on various activities, including data requirements gathering, data approval planning and review, creating and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines, planning and executing data set mapping/tables/views, and deploying across multiple environments like DEV, QA/UAT, and Prod.
You will use a variety of technologies to satisfy the work, including, but not limited to, SQL, Python, Docker, Gitlab, Apache Beam, Snowflake, Looker, and PostgreSQL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data systems and pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and plan data pipelines.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines using Apache Beam, Databricks, and other technologies.
- Plan and execute data set mapping/tables/views using Snowflake, Looker, and other technologies.
- Deploy data pipelines across multiple environments like DEV, QA/UAT, and Prod.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience with Python.
- 2+ years of experience with SQL.
- 2+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- 2+ years of experience with cloud-based technologies, ideally AWS and S3.
- Experience using Apache Beam, Databricks, and other big data technologies.
- 2+ years of experience using Gitlab/Github.
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based, like Snowflake, Databricks, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Snowflake, Apache Beam, Gitlab, and other technologies.
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in the streaming, media, or advanced advertising industry.
