M Street Center Name Change Implementation Project Project Overview We're implementing a comprehensive name change from "Perry School Community Services Center" to "M Street Center" and need an experienced nonprofit administrative specialist to execute our detailed 20-task implementation plan. Timeline: 3-4 weeks full-time work (30-40 hours/week) Start Date: Immediate (upon successful trial completion) Structure: Paid trial week + full project implementation Clear Deliverables & Expectations Phase 1 - Trial Week (Tasks 1-4) Deliverables: Board messaging toolkit with talking points and AI prompts IRS Form 990/EIN name change filing completed DC Office of Tax and Revenue updates submitted Banking coordination with Truist representative (contact provided) Success Criteria: Professional, polished documents ready for immediate use All government filings submitted correctly with confirmation numbers Proactive communication about any roadblocks or questions Organized documentation of all completed work Phase 2 - Full Implementation (Tasks 5-20) Core Task Categories: Government Compliance: SAM.gov, DC registrations, business licenses Financial Systems: Insurance updates, QuickBooks, payroll systems Communications: Email campaigns, donor mailings, partner notifications Operations: Contract amendments, vendor notifications, signage coordination Stakeholder Management: Grant portals, funder communications, archive updates Required Skills & Experience Must Have: 3+ years nonprofit administrative experience (Form 990s, compliance) Government portal navigation (IRS, state/local systems) Professional business communication skills Project management with complex, interdependent tasks Eastern time zone (for DC government office coordination) Strongly Preferred: Previous organizational rebranding experience Washington DC government systems familiarity Multi-tenant property management experience Grant management background Our Communication Style & Expectations How We Work: Daily check-ins via Upwork messages (brief status updates) Shared project tracker (we'll provide template) for task status Proactive communication - we expect you to flag issues early Professional tone - you'll be representing us to government agencies, banks, and partners Detail-oriented - accuracy is critical for legal/financial updates What We Provide: Comprehensive 50-page implementation playbook with step-by-step instructions All necessary contact information (bank reps, government offices, vendors) Brand guidelines and logo files Access to organizational documents (W-9, board resolutions, etc.) Clear decision-making authority - no waiting for approvals on standard procedures Response Time Expectations: Us to you: Same business day response to questions You to us: Daily status updates by 5 PM ET Government/vendor issues: Immediate notification if delays occur Application Questions To ensure good fit, please address: Nonprofit Experience: Describe your most complex nonprofit administrative project involving government compliance or organizational transitions.
