Job Description
Enfield Public Schools is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Nurse (RN or LPN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting the health and well-being of students, ensuring they are ready to learn and succeed in a safe and supportive environment. The position may be filled by either a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse, depending on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic health conditions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized health care plans.
• Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify and address health issues that may impact learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to support students' health and educational needs.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation in accordance with state and district policies.
• Promote health education and wellness initiatives within the school community.
• Respond to health emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications
• For RN Candidates:
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing.
• Valid Connecticut RN license.
• Certification in School Nursing preferred.
• For LPN Candidates:
• Valid Connecticut LPN license.
• Experience in pediatric or school health settings preferred.
• Must work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or School Medical Advisor.
• For All Candidates:
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience working with children or adolescents in a healthcare or educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric and public health practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse school community.
