Elementary Teacher- TED (Teaching and Learning)

This individual must be able to build relationships with students, staff, and parents, and must be flexible, sincere, and positive.The position will provide support to academically gifted students and their families. Duties will include supporting/facilitating the identification of gifted students, developing student learning plans, and collaborating with regular classroom teachers in the modification and/or differentiation of curricula by meeting regularly to review targeted academic needs and goals. The individual will facilitate and coordinate the spelling bee and geography bee.Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in education.
  • Valid Alaska teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement.
  • Six semester education credits in extended learning (gifted/talented)
Preferred Requirements:
  • Excellent organizational skills and follow through are essential.
  • Prefer experience working in an elementary school setting.
  • Previous teaching experience with gifted & talented students beneficial.
Compensation: Salary is dependent on experience and education.
