Public Health Inquiries Specialist (Remote Flexibility)
About the position
As the Public Health Inquiries Specialist at Abt Global, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Public Inquiries Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about public health and communication, and it offers the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, allowing you to work both on-site at CDC's offices in Hyattsville, MD or Atlanta, GA, and remotely. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the initial point of contact for public inquiries, managing a variety of requests that come through different channels, including email, telephone, direct mail, and outreach activities. You will be tasked with triaging technical and complex inquiries to subject matter experts (SMEs) and ensuring that all responses are accurate and complete. In addition to managing inquiries, you will perform continuous analysis of the types of requests received, assisting in the review and evaluation of inquiries and the quality of responses provided. This role also involves fulfilling publication and information product requests, maintaining publication databases, and preparing both annual and ad hoc reports. You will work closely with the Project Leader to develop or update communication tools that enhance the effectiveness of the Public Inquiries Program. Furthermore, you will assist in writing and developing content for standard operating procedures, the Inquiries web page, and training events, ensuring that all materials are informative and accessible. Your work will contribute significantly to the CDC's mission of providing accurate public health information, and you will have the opportunity to attend seminars and webinars that highlight the latest data releases, further enhancing your knowledge and skills in the field. Responsibilities
Serve as the initial point of contact for public inquiries and responses.

Triage technical and complex inquiries to subject matter experts (SMEs) and ensure responses are accurate and complete.

Manage, record and track inquiries.

Perform continuous analysis of the types of requests received.

Assist with the review and evaluation of inquiries and the quality of responses provided.

Prepare reports on the inquiries program and assist in the presentation of those reports.

Fulfill publication and information product requests manually or by placing orders through the internal online CDC-INFO Publications Administrative Tool (warehouse).

Support activities associated with centralized publication inventory and distribution functions.

Update and maintain publication databases.

Prepare annual and ad hoc reports.

Perform Publications Administrative Tool (PAT) warehouse inventory maintenance.
,
Review holdings to ensure all standards are applied.

Work closely with the Project Leader to develop or update communication tools that will better serve the Public Inquiries Program.

Assist with writing and developing information for standard operating procedures; content for the Inquiries web page; content for pre-recorded and live training events; and other job aides.

Attend seminars and webinars that highlight the newest data releases and other meetings.

Attend regular status meetings with various teams and stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree + 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree + 0 years of relevant experience.

Demonstrated experience with managing inquiries, developing processes, reports, and communication tools.
,
Experience maintaining and managing inquiry/response database.
,
Experience fulfilling requests from the public and working with staff and SMEs to deliver accurate information to the public.
,
Knowledge of public health data and statistics, and organizational awareness and knowledge of types of health data produced by CDC.
