Commercial Interior Design Lead
<p>We are seeking an experienced Commercial Interior Designer to lead our Office & Workplace design team in delivering innovative, high-quality design solutions for B2B clients, with a primary focus on office and workplace environments. This role requires a blend of design expertise, business acumen, critical thinking, and leadership to drive both creative excellence and business results.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial office interior design, strong financial and strategic decision-making skills, and the ability to manage projects, mentor teams, and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve revenue and profitability goals.</p>

<p><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p>
<p><em>Office Design Strategy & Project Execution</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead a team of Commercial Office interior designers in providing inspiring, comprehensive interior design services for workplace projects.</li>
<li>Drive the execution of high-potential new business opportunities by executing design concepting, space planning, deliverable development and project execution: </li>
<li>Utilize AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering software to create and present high-quality design deliverables.</li>
<li>Space planning to code, develop programming, create FF&E specifications, and generate parts lists.</li>
<li>Develop fabric and finish palettes, aligning with brand and client needs.</li>
<li>Establish project budgets and timelines in collaboration with sales and project management teams.</li>
<li>Understand the competitive landscape in commercial office, hospitality, and homebuilder/model home projects. Identify our strengths, gaps, and revenue opportunities.</li>
<li>Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to influence roadmaps, make strategic trade-offs, and drive high-impact business decisions.</li>
<li>Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations to bring fresh, competitive ideas to customers.</li>
</ul>
<p><em>Business & Financial Management</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Own and manage the team’s P&L, tracking opportunity throughput, sales and profitability.</li>
<li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and project outcomes, and optimize financial and operational performance.</li>
<li>Lead and participate in customer and supplier meetings, building strong relationships and effectively representing Wayfair Professional externally. <br>Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration</li>
<li>Coach and mentor team members on design execution, presentation skills, and business impact.</li>
<li>Manage performance and development, ensuring continuous skill growth within the team.</li>
<li>Proactively staff high-priority projects, escalating roadblocks when necessary to maintain momentum and meet business objectives.</li>
<li>Partner with commercial, sales, marketing and other designers to refine concepts and execute projects that align to a shared vision and strategic objectives </li>
</ul>
<p><em>Travel Expectations</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Travel as needed to customer locations and installations.</li>
<li>Quarterly travel to industry events and tradeshows required.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What You'll Need</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design (required).</li>
<li>8–10 years of professional experience in commercial interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing workplace projects (office dealer preferred).</li>
<li>Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, CAP 2020, CET Designer</li>
<li>Deep knowledge of FF&E, furniture systems, materials, space planning, and commercial design standards.</li>
<li>Strong conceptual 3D thinking and visualization skills.</li>
<li>Strategic mindset with experience managing P&L and driving profitability.</li>
<li>Ability to analyze business data and apply insights to design and sales strategies.</li>
<li>Proven success in building, coaching, and leading design teams.</li>
<li>Exceptional organization, communication, and stakeholder management skills.</li>

<p>The salary range (or base pay) for this position is $109,010-132,500 however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.</p>
