Director of Finance - Remote 10 Yrs Exp Req'd
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE – 100% Remote Position (U.S. based)
ViaTrie LLC (ViaTrie) is looking for an experienced and dedicated Director of Finance who will be responsible for developing and directing the company’s analytical, financial plans and policies. The Director of Finance will report on metrics to optimize our growth by understanding where efficiencies exist to maximize scalability throughout the year. The Director of Finance responsibilities include overseeing accounting operations, gathering and analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports. Ultimately, the Director of Finance will work directly with ViaTrie’s three partners to ensure our operations remain on track to hit our target goals.
This is a 100% remote position; you must be based in the U.S. (preferably the East Coast) and able to work core business hours 8 AM – 5 PM (Eastern) M-F. Sorry, but we can not provide sponsorship. You must be able to pass a background and credit check.
Responsibilities
· Financial Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including full-cycle AP and AR, to ensure timely and accurate processing.
o Prepare timely and accurate analyses, summaries and reports of financial data on the operating progress of the company
o Create a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting structure that includes a minimum cash threshold to meet operational needs
o Routinely review revenue cycle metrics to identify and address issues affecting overall performance proactively
o Partner with executive team to ensure the company hits revenue targets
o Build and oversee a finance team and work closely with them to carry out everyday operations
· Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing for employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant laws and policies
· Tax Compliance: Maintain strong compliance with state and local tax requirements, preparing necessary reports and filings, and supporting any tax audits
· Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and contractual requirements
· Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with executive team to create budgets and forecasts, providing insights and variance analysis to support financial planning
· Contract Compliance: Ensure adherence to government contracting standards, including compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
· Audit Preparation: Lead and support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing all required documentation
· Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy in finance operations.
o Lead implementation of DCAA-compliant government contracting software, such as Unanet or similar
· Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks that threaten the company’s financial stability (credit, interest, etc.)
· Project Control: Develop, implement and monitor standardized project controls to manage project budgets.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, these are the skills/experience/education/certifications you should possess:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field or 10+ years of finance/accounting experience
· Experience: Minimum of 10 years of finance/accounting experience, specifically within federal government contracting environments. Must have direct experience in Accounting/Finance for Virginia based LLC’s. Prior experience in Accounting/Finance for NCR is a plus
· Accounting Skills: Proficiency in full-cycle AP and AR, payroll processing, and familiarity with general ledger systems
· Tax Knowledge: Understanding of state and local tax compliance, including experience with multi-state filings
· Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software; knowledge of Unanet or similar government contracting software preferred
· Communication & Analytical Skills: Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively
· Ability to:
o Work independently and manage multiple projects/assignments/responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
o Adapt to last-minute changes and requests
o Efficiently and effectively provide information to stakeholders with high quality and integrity
o Look at the “big picture” without overlooking the smaller nuances
o Lead a team and keep team members motivated, informed and on the same page
o Present ideas in a way that is easily accessible, even when the information is highly technical
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Detail oriented, flexible, nimble, and organized
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred skills/experience, but not required
· Certifications: CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are a plus
