The pay range is $147,000.00 - $264,000.00


Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. A role on the Enterprise Insights team means you will be a champion for our current and future guests, inspiring the organization to act in their best interest. Under your leadership, your team will help partners build consumer-centric strategies and activations.



As a Director Insights, you will report to the VP of Enterprise Insights and have responsibility for ensuring research quality and methodological rigor across all Insights teams. You will work with your direct reports to identify and/or develop and implement new tools, technologies, or methodologies (e.g., DIY platforms, knowledge sharing, AI/GenAI). You will also streamline research operations, making it easier for the team to identify and execute best in class research. Your team will oversee relationships with vendor partners and facilitate contract execution and management.



You will be a passionate advocate for quality research, an effective communicator and leader that is flexible, and can demonstrate an ability to partner with, and influence other senior leaders and cross-functional teams. Importantly, you are also accountable for the upskill the Insights team through training and knowledge-sharing.



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree


  • 10+ years of Market Research or Consumer Insights experience


  • Credible functional leader whose functional perspective is respected and whose POV is sought out.


  • Stays up to date on industry trends, advanced insights tools/methods, and best practices to continually enhance capabilities.


  • An effective coach, mentor, and developer of people.


  • Collaboration effectively, enrolling and bringing others along in a timely manner.


  • Manage external vendors, experiments with new methods, and leverages emerging capabilities to drive efficiency and effectiveness.


  • Expertise in identifying long-term consumer trends (e.g., changing attitudes, lifestyle shifts) and their impact on the business.


  • Strong strategic thinking, informed by a deep understanding of the business, and excellent communication skills to turn data into actionable insights that guide organizational decisions.


  • Experience managing insights capabilities: research tools, platforms, vendors, knowledge management, etc.


  • Track record of operationalizing insights (e.g., improving processes, standardizing methodologies, or scaling best practices).



This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
