About the position


The North Slope Operator position at ConocoPhillips Alaska involves operating production facilities and drill sites in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. Responsibilities




  • Operating the production facilities and drill sites in a safe, economic and environmentally sound manner
  • ,

  • Achieving and maintaining qualifications in operating all areas including the facility control room board
  • ,

  • Seeking and implementing opportunities to reduce area costs and optimize performance
  • ,

  • Participating in training and contributing to the development of training material for operations personnel
  • ,

  • Understanding and applying safety and environmental standards and actively ensuring compliance in area of responsibility
  • ,

  • Participating in all field safety processes to achieve a zero-incident operating culture
  • ,

  • Preparing and safely shutting down equipment for maintenance operations
  • ,

  • Troubleshooting technical problems and safety issues
  • ,

  • Participating in facility and drill site modifications, as well as special projects, both on-site in Kuparuk or Alpine, and off-site in Anchorage


Requirements




  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • ,

  • Current/Valid Driver's License
  • ,

  • 5 or more years direct oilfield/petro-chemical operations experience
  • ,

  • Intermediate level of knowledge of production operations including oil/chemical processing, gas compression, power generation and utilities operation, chemical treating, and/or drill site and well operation
  • ,

  • Willing or able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work a 14-days on/14-days off shift schedule in a remote arctic environment, both inside and outside in harsh weather conditions
  • ,

  • Willing or able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to safely perform physical labor including climbing ladders/stairs, operating valves and equipment, walking, standing, stooping, sitting, and carrying material periodically throughout a 12-hour shift

  • Associate degree or higher in process technology or other relevant technical discipline or foreign equivalent

  • Intermediate level of experience working with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)

  • Intermediate level of experience with reading and comprehending Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)

  • Intermediate level of experience with a maintenance management system (SAP)
