In some circumstances, an FBI fingerprint report may be necessary to satisfy the requirement. Once employed, employees must hold and continue to maintain a favorable criminal history background. Random background checks are performed. Credit checks may be performed on candidates/employees who are selected for a position that regularly engages in handling credit cards or other company monies. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) may be performed during the hiring process, or as part of a random check. This course teaches the students practical skills in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. In addition, students should produce unique creative work that can be included in future portfolios. The projects typically include personal and/or business logos, posters for an event, magazine cover and spread, patterns for textiles created in Illustrator and patterns as art pieces made in photoshop. Students have also created brochures, package designs or restaurant menus as a final project.Application Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Studio Art or related field (Terminal Degree Preferred)
  • Strong Exhibition record in Creative and/or Scholarly Research
  • Maintains a portfolio of personal and student art work
  • Demonstrated potential for effective teaching and scholarship
  • Demonstrated leadership skills & evidence of professional collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Evidence of effective and innovative teaching in traditional, online, and/or hybrid environments
  • Evidence of attention to cultural diversity in teaching
Position Responsibilities as Adjunct Professor of Studio Art:
  • Teach undergraduate courses that may include, but are not limited to, Foundations: 2D/3D; Foundations: Color, Drawing, Painting, Art History, Art Appreciation, Special Topics Courses, and/or Graphic Design
  • Potentially participate in recruitment and retention events
  • Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisory responsibilities required.Work Hours:
Work hours are dependent on the classes being taught by the adjunct each semester. For Fall 2025, we need someone to teach a MW 9:30 – 12:00. There may be the opportunity for a second graphics class, but that is pending enrollment.Environmental and Working Conditions/ Physical Demands and Aptitudes:
Mostly Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment related to teaching. Prolonged periods sitting and standing. worker is required to have close visual acuity to grade papers, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Must have the ability to travel short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. Exerting up to 15 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Some repetitive motion.Title IX Implications:Responsible employee
