Compensation: Antioch University offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes both direct and indirect pay. The compensation will be based on experience, education, knowledge, credentials, and a consideration of the difficulty and complexity of the position. The minimum salary for this position based on residential location, is: WA $67,410.00, CA $69,300.00, Other locations: $63,000.00.Antioch University Seattle invites applications for a full-time Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) faculty member to join our progressive team of counselor educators. Antioch aspires to be a leading university offering learners and communities transformative education in a global context that fosters innovation and inspires social action.This faculty position is part of a flexible, hybrid-format CMHC program, offered in two modalities: * A weekend platform with classes based in Seattle, WA and Keene, NH where faculty teach in-person two weekends per course (totaling 32 hours of experiential instruction per course).


  • A low-residency platform combining online coursework with two required intensive residencies.

Faculty are expected to teach at least three weekend courses per semester (six weekends total) for two of the three terms. While preference is given to candidates in the Seattle region, those living outside of Seattle may apply if they can travel to campus for the weekend sessions. Between weekend sessions, faculty engage in primarily asynchronous teaching, grading, and student support in the classes.

As Teaching Faculty, there is an 80% focus on direct instruction, the primary element of engagement in student learning (24 credits of teaching) and typically 20% of other non instructional work including institutional citizenship, to include admissions committee work and other program, school, or university assignments.In alignment with Antioch’s mission, the CMHC programs at AU are committed to experiential learning, social justice, extensive clinical training, scholarship, and the use of creative, progressive and applied approaches. AU has been educating counselors for over 40 years and has a network of alumni throughout the country, who serve as many of our field supervisors and employers. Faculty are expected to engage in pedagogy and practices that reflect the social justice mission of the university.Position Overview

The position has responsibilities that include:

  • Teaching 24 semester credits of direct instruction per academic year and engaging in student advising

  • Engaging in program, department, campus, and school/university citizenship

  • Engaging in ongoing department and program initiatives, particularly related to improvements in pedagogy and student engagement

  • Incorporating a social justice lens into pedagogical, content, and clinical approaches

Educational and Experiential Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least two years of clinical supervision experience

  • An earned doctorate in counselor education and supervision (CACREP-accredited program preferred)

  • Professional counselor credentials (e.g., NCC or state licensure),

  • Graduate teaching experience

  • Commitment to social justice and advocacy underpinned by the American Counseling Association’s (2015) Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:

  • Expertise in online pedagogy specific to clinical training programs

  • Knowledge of CACREP Standards and program evaluation
