We offer BSBA, MBA, and MSA degrees and our School of Hospitality Management offers both a BS in Hospitality Management and an MS in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality. Additionally, the Miller School of Entrepreneurship offers a BS in Entrepreneurship. We are one of the largest Colleges of Business in the state with approximately 4,200 undergraduate and 900 graduate students. To date, the COB has approximately 150 faculty members of the highest caliber, skilled in the scholarship of research, teaching, and application of knowledge. A strategic goal of the college is to create an environment where the faculty, staff, and students can thrive and be personally and professionally respected.The Department of Accounting is a unit within the College of Business that offers BSBA and MSA degrees and maintains AACSB accreditation. The Department of Accounting has 18 faculty members and offers courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Accounting faculty promote a collegial and stimulating environment that encourages intellectual collaboration and professional development through education, research, creative activities, and service.
Job DutiesThe Department of Accounting within the College of Business at East Carolina University, is seeking a full-time, nine-month, Teaching Instructor to teach undergraduate Accounting courses including Audit and Managerial Accounting beginning August 2025.The Teaching Instructor will teach twelve semester hours during the fall and spring semesters at the undergraduate level in Accounting. The Teaching Instructor will also be expected to provide service to the university, community, and profession, and any other duties as assigned by the department chair.Contingent upon availability of funds.
Minimum Education/Experience


  • Master's degree with at least 18 credit hours of Graduate coursework in the teaching field or related discipline from an accredited business school that satisfies credentialing under SACS guidelines. Alternatively, Master's degree in the teaching field or related discipline from an accredited business school with 5 years professional experience that satisfies credentialing under SACS guidelines.

  • Have significant Accounting experience.

  • Possess the qualifications necessary to be designated a professionally qualified faculty member in accordance with AACSB standards.

  • Required to be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

  • Must demonstrate a commitment and proven record of excellence in teaching.

License or Certification Required by Statute or RegulationN/A

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/EducationRecent relevant work experience is preferred.
