Job description: Stuart Hall School, an independent Episcopal day and boarding school serving grades 6-12, seeks a full-time Upper School Teacher to join our dynamic learning community and help build a math program based on Mastery principles. This is an opportunity to contribute to our skills-based curriculum and engage students in an environment that prizes curiosity and intellectual risk taking in the pursuit of knowledge.Position HighlightsThe Instructional Music Teacher will:Teach four sections of Upper School math classes, likely including the full range of course offerings from Algebra 1 through Calculus.

Implement Mastery Learning principles by providing clear standards, scales, and assessments.

Integrate technology into instruction by using tools such as Google Classroom.

Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students.

Participate in fostering an inclusive and collaborative school community.
Additional ResponsibilitiesServe as an advisor to a small group of students.

Contribute to co-curricular activities such as coaching, clubs, or student groups.

Support the residential life program (on-campus housing available).

Engage in school life, including meetings, events, and supervisory duties.
Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree.

Minimum of two years of experience in areas of mathematics typically covered in high school courses, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge to develop a skills-based curriculum.

Interest in engaging beyond the classroom, including coaching or student activities.

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications (absences will not harm application)Master’s degree or higher.

Experience in computer science, robotics, or related fields.

Experience with Standards-Based Learning and instructional differentiation.

Previous experience in a boarding school setting.

Experience coaching interscholastic sports
