  • Responsible for the management and administration of the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) program.

  • Responsible for the management and administration of the physical access control systems (i.e. Defense Biometrics Identification System - DBIDS).

  • Performs administrative office support functions and develops, coordinates, and publishes all SF installation level publications to include the Installation Security Plan, the Installation Security Instruction, and SF annexes.

  • Performs installation security duties. Leads and manages SF programs designed to provide a secure mission environment. Establishes requirements for police services, physical security, and Anti-Terrorism programs.

  • Manages police services. Develops and writes localized SF policies and procedures. Manages installation entry control, visitor center operations, and special functions/events.

  • Manages Security Forces Management Information System (SFMIS).

  • Performs and enforces the full range of SF duties within the military installation. Apprehend and detain violators of laws, rules, and regulations and turn them over to the Federal or civil police or other law enforcement officers.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QualificationsMILITARY GRADES: E3 through E6COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 3P051GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Knowledge, training, and/or experience with security policing information, security sensitive compartmental information, special security requirements, force protection, anti-terrorism, information protection, security police training, unit deployment, and physical security. Knowledge, training, and/or experience involving security policing, guiding principles, training requirements, and certifications. Some work in this occupation requires expanded security clearances, an extensive knowledge of the laws, rules, regulations and procedures governing a distinct set of operational duties and responsibilities for performing security functions and handling weapons. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
