This is a hands-on, independent role with responsibilities that include but are not limited to creating and executing processes for the Company’s financial transactions, creating, and executing Monthly Reporting Process including P&L, income statements, reconciliation reports, and Quarterly and Annual forecasting. The role is also accountable for maintaining strong partnerships and collaboration with operations, leadership, restaurant management, and external vendors.AS THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT YOU WILL….Accounting & Financial ManagementMaintain accurate financial records, ensuring timely processing of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).Perform daily financial reconciliation for all restaurant locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring transactions are properly recorded.Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, clearing outstanding items efficiently on a monthly basis.Handle vendor transactions, including invoice processing and follow-ups if needed.Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.Maintain a chart of accounts and ensure consistency across financial records.Work closely with the Senior Staff Accountant and Leadership to develop and implement financial policies.Financial Analysis & ReportingAssist in the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.Support budgeting and forecasting for restaurant locations, including data entry and analysis.Monitor P&L statements weekly to identify trends and business opportunities.Generate financial reports to support decision-making and business strategy.Operations & Growth SupportOversee merchandise sales and inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.Collaborate with external service providers and vendors to streamline financial processes.ROLE COMPETENCIES:LanguageEnglishExperienceBachelor’s degree preferably in Finance3+ years of experience in Finance preferably within the restaurant/hospitality/service industryWorking knowledge of Restaurant 365 Bill.com or similar softwareExpert Level MS 365Multi-unit financial experience.Previous experience reconciling balance sheets.Functional Expertise & UsageThis is a hands-on role, and you must have the ability to work independently.Time management skillsFlexibility to work during core business hours which may include weekends and eveningsUnderstands inventory and food cost calculations.Performs high-level bookkeeping.Enjoys hands-on work.Attention to DetailTaking responsibility for a thorough and detailed method of working.OrganizationalOrganized, detail oriented.Having and using knowledge of systems, situations, procedures, and culture inside the organization to identify potential problems and opportunities, perceiving the impact and the implications of decisions on other components of the organization.CommunicationShaping and expressing ideas and information in an effective manner.Organized, strategic communicator and team player.IntegrityUpholding accepted social and ethical standards in job-related activities and behaviors.Supports every team member’s personal and professional development by recognizing talents and contributions while also providing feedback and ideas for improvementWork EnvironmentCorporate environmentHybrid work model (1 day (Tuesday) onsite in corporate location- 4 days remote)Occasional travel between locations.Fast-paced yet positive work environment.Opportunity for career advancement with a growth, mission-driven company.SALLY’S CORE VALUESObsession for ApizzaTrue passion for the uncompromised quality and tradition of New Haven Apizza.
