Job description: My client is looking to hire a superintendent or Sr. superintendent based of Bowie, MD. Projects will be in DC.


  • Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.

  • Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project team members to ensure efficient work flow and resource utilisation.

  • Ensure that all construction activities comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager, Program Managers and other leadership to develop and maintain the project schedule, ensuring timely completion of milestones.

  • Assist in the preparation of project plans, including work schedules, resource allocation, and material procurement.

  • Communicate regularly with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.

  • Monitor project expenses and resource usage to ensure adherence to the project budget.

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for construction activities.

  • Identify potential cost-saving measures and implement strategies to optimise resource utilisation.

  • Prior experience in the day to day aspects of construction

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field is preferred

  • Capacity to stand, walk, and move around the construction site for extended periods

  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality and compliance

  • Minimum 9 years of experience in commercial interior construction, with exposure to federal projects preferred.

Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale projects, demonstrating polished client-facing skills.Strong understanding of construction methodologies, safety protocols, and project management best practices.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, adept at problem-solving and multitasking.Previous experience in a Senior Superintendent or similar role is highly desirable.My client is a General Contractor based in the Bowie, MD area who is looking for someone to work on government projects. They have specialized in private and government markets for over 25 years and have an extensive pipeline of projects going forward. Their average projects cost is $50M+ and average project size is 80,000 sq ft. They provide an extremely comprehensive benefits package and provide annual bonuses up to 20%.
