[Hiring] Medical Billing Virtual Assistant @GLOBAL PACIFIC SUPPORT
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Medical Billing Virtual Assistant with experience in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) management and strong knowledge of Maryland-specific healthcare billing regulations. The ideal candidate will assist in streamlining billing processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing patient records, and supporting the administrative needs of our healthcare practice.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Process insurance claims, patient invoices, and payments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure billing practices comply with Maryland Medical Assistance (Medicaid), Medicare, and private insurance payer requirements.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims or denials.
- Maintain and manage EMR systems (e.g., Kareo, AthenaHealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar).
- Audit and verify patient charts for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA and Maryland state laws.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and staff to clarify diagnoses, treatments, and documentation needs.
- Submit prior authorizations and referrals as needed.
- Track and resolve billing discrepancies or insurance denials.
- Stay up to date with Maryland health policy changes and payer requirements.
- Provide administrative support including appointment scheduling, patient communication, and document management. Qualifications:
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding (CPC or similar certification preferred).
- Hands-on experience with EMR systems and practice management software.
- In-depth understanding of Maryland medical billing regulations and insurance policies.
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and best practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks remotely.
