The Payroll Business Analyst serves as a liaison for the payroll department between HRIS, IT, and Accounting. The position is responsible for being the human capital management (HCM) system subject matter expert for payroll functions including analyzing and developing business requirements, building reports and setting up audits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with leadership teams in payroll, accounting, and compensation to analyze best practices
Serves as a liaison and human capital management (HCM) system subject matter expert for the payroll department, understanding end to end processes for payroll function
Analyzes transactions to confirm accuracy in the payroll processing environment
Provides payroll requirements to IT system administrator for development of Infor Process Automations (IPAs)
Maintains responsibility for testing system automations, configurations, and vendor patches
Maintains knowledge of system capabilities relevant to payroll process/systems
Develops and updates Business Requirements for new and existing systems relevant to payroll
Sets up new companies (org structure) for payroll configuration
Serves as a back-up, when needed, to key team members for payroll processing and support
Provides support for tax related forms as it relates to the payroll system
Configures leave plan set up and group enablement criteria to support the overall payroll process
Sets up appropriate tables to support payroll process and reporting
Provides audit support to ensure appropriate system set-up/configuration relevant to payroll
Builds and delivers reports utilizing Lawson add-ins from S3
Serves as subject matter expert for payroll systems, processing, reporting, etc.
Built reports with Lawson add-ins from S3
Performs other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in business or related field required or payroll experience in lieu of a degree
Three - five years of experience in payroll exempt level position
Must have understanding of end-to-end payroll processing
Must have technical experience with understanding, supporting and working with Payroll systems
Knowledge of Accounting fundamentals
Prefer experience with Lawson/Infor Payroll products (ERP/HCM)
Self-starter with the desire to learn end to end payroll process of data flow, including inputs from upstream processes to downstream accounting
Advanced Excel skills including ability to create robust spreadsheet reporting and analysis utilizing pivot tables requires at least an intermediate skill set
Able to produce accurate and error free work products
Able to handle stress, multiple tasks, and deadlines effectively
Able to work in a team-oriented environment
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to function as part of a team yet work with minimum supervision
Able to handle confidential data
