In this role, you will serve as a liaison between the company and agents, acting as a relationship manager for our agents, regional underwriting team, and corporate departments. You will work with agents in unsupported territories, focusing on key agent new business submission activity and those who prefer digital interaction. This position is primarily inside-office based, with primary contact via phone and email, although occasional travel may be required to meet with key agency partners. Your responsibilities will include writing new profitable business, ensuring continuity during vacancies, and maintaining a high level of satisfaction and agency support. You will market and underwrite small business and large accounts according to acceptable underwriting criteria and company standards. Consistent underwriting decisions will be essential, as will excellent communication and service via digital technology. You will monitor agency results, follow up on new business opportunities, and provide leadership in finding solutions to problems and exploiting opportunities. Additionally, you will develop professional working relationships with agents, regional underwriting, claims teams, and corporate departments, ensuring open communication and encouraging agent usage of all Selective systems. Staying abreast of industry developments and changes in carrier philosophies will be crucial to your success in this role.

Requirements
?? Highly developed marketing skills.
,
?? Demonstrated superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
,
?? Self-motivated, pro-active, flexible, and able to work independently.
,
?? Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internal business software.
,
?? Strong focus on results.
,
?? Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing.

Nice-to-haves
?? College degree preferred.

?? 5+ years of underwriting, marketing, or field underwriting experience.

?? 2 years of Agency Management experience preferred.
,
?? Experience in the New England Territory.
