Disney's Android group is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a passion for developing apps that reach millions of users worldwide. You will craft intuitive and seamless solutions for the Disney+ and Star+ Android apps across a variety of devices, including phones, tablets, and TVs. Key Responsibilities: • Lead technical initiatives for a wide range of critical aspects, including release processes, remote configuration management, and live production troubleshooting. • Take ownership of entire projects from start to finish, ensuring smooth execution and delivery. • Maintain a broad understanding of our project's architecture while focusing on the team's overall health and success. • Actively seek out leadership opportunities to improve processes, approach challenges with a positive attitude, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. • Support career growth among team members and invest in the long-term success of the company. Qualifications: Required Skills: • Proficiency in Reactive Programming and Dependency Injection. • Expertise in various architectural patterns (e.g., MVI/MVVM). • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams. • Ability to write clean, efficient code, and create comprehensive tests and documentation. • Experience troubleshooting production issues, ideally on a large scale. • Proven track record of successfully leading projects from inception to completion. Preferred Skills: • Familiarity with common Android libraries such as Dagger 2/Hilt, RxJava2, Groupie. • Experience with Android TV/Amazon Fire TV development. • Knowledge of streaming video, codecs, and DRM. • Proficiency in maintaining large, modularized codebases. • Experience with performance evaluation tools like Android Profiler. Technical Expertise: • Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Dependency Injection, Gradle, Databases, Reactive principles, coroutines.
