Job Summary
As a Patient Account Representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare providers to address hospital billing and physician inquiries. Your expertise in analyzing patient accounts, evaluating results, and ensuring timely resolution will be essential in this role. You will convey information effectively, exercise active listening, and make sound judgments and decisions using logic and reasoning to identify and solve problems. This position offers the opportunity to work from home, with the possibility of completing training at a blithequark facility or visiting a facility for business purposes. Please note that employees in this role must reside in Kentucky or Indiana.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to patient and healthcare provider inquiries regarding hospital billing and physician services in a professional and courteous manner
- Analyze patient accounts to identify and resolve billing discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to set processes
- Convey complex information effectively, using active listening skills to understand patient concerns and provide accurate solutions
- Exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills to identify and solve problems, using logic and reasoning to resolve complex billing issues
- Collaborate with internal teams, including patient financial services, billing, and customer service, to ensure seamless resolution of patient inquiries

Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of patient billing, insurance, and financial services
- High School Diploma or GED, with a strong foundation in mathematics, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and make informed decisions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities with ease
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- One year of experience in a call center or healthcare setting with an emphasis on insurance, patient billing, and other office-related duties
