Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our team at blithequark. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the business through estimation, investigation, and insight generation for our trade and development item surface areas. This is a part-time opportunity with a competitive hourly rate of $25 per hour, working 8 hours a day. The successful candidate will be based in Santa Monica, USA, and will have the opportunity to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Analyst at blithequark, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building analyses, data visualizations, and multi-functional reporting that provides critical support to the operations and decision-making for the sign-up and business item spaces
  • Answering key business questions and providing analytical expertise on the different trade streams on D+ and Hulu to improve the customer experience and increase conversions
  • Advancing the analytical capabilities of the business, collaborating in the design of analytical solutions, and delivering exceptional data insights and products
  • Using data visualization tools, SQL, and scripting languages to access and analyze structured and unstructured data
  • Applying descriptive and inferential statistics (t-test, chi-square, ANOVA, correlation, Regression, Factor Analysis, etc.) to understand customer behaviors/values and drive business impact across the organization

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
  • 3+ years of professional experience as an analyst in a data and analytics space with strong SQL, Python, or R skills for complex querying, advanced analysis, performance optimization, and working with data at scale
  • Experience delivering end-to-end analysis projects: taking them from unclear requirements to a meaningful story, open across different audiences, and eventually to a tangible business outcome
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and technical partners, and present to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • A Master's degree in a quantitative field
  • Demonstrated data visualization skills with tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Looker, MicroStrategy, Plotly, etc.
  • Experience with marketing landing pages, join funnel, and business spaces
  • Ability to identify and appropriately escalate issues to management
  • Consulting background, MBA, or other multi-industry experience
  • Strong motivation and ability to work independently
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Sense of humor
  • Unique interests or hobbies that influence the way you interact with others or approach your work
