Job Overview

As a Virtual Special Education Instructor, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing customized Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique requirements of each student. You will employ adaptive teaching strategies to enhance engagement and learning outcomes for students with disabilities, collaborate effectively with parents, virtual colleagues, and support staff, and monitor student progress through data-driven assessments. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement customized Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Create and implement IEPs that cater to the unique needs and abilities of each student, ensuring that they receive the support and accommodations necessary to succeed in a remote learning environment.
  • Employ adaptive teaching strategies to enhance engagement and learning outcomes: Utilize a range of teaching strategies and resources to engage students with disabilities and promote learning outcomes, including the use of technology and multimedia resources.
  • Collaborate effectively with parents, virtual colleagues, and support staff: Work closely with parents, virtual colleagues, and support staff to ensure that students receive a comprehensive and inclusive education, and that their needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
  • Monitor student progress through data-driven assessments: Use data-driven assessments to track student progress, identify areas of strength and weakness, and adjust instructional approaches to support continuous improvement.

Required Skills

  • Proficient knowledge of IEP development and implementation: Possess a deep understanding of IEP development and implementation, including the ability to create and implement customized IEPs that meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Ability to modify online teaching methodologies and resources: Be able to adapt teaching methodologies and resources to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities, including the use of technology and multimedia resources.
  • Strong collaboration skills for engaging with families and educational support teams: Possess excellent collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with parents, virtual colleagues, and support staff to ensure that students receive a comprehensive and inclusive education.
  • Excellent assessment capabilities to track and evaluate student progress: Be able to use data-driven assessments to track and evaluate student progress, identify areas of strength and weakness, and adjust instructional approaches to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related discipline: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related discipline, such as Special Education, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid state certification in Special Education: Hold a valid state certification in Special Education, including any necessary endorsements or specializations.
  • Preferred experience in a virtual teaching environment: Possess experience teaching in a virtual environment, including the use of technology and multimedia resources to engage students and promote learning outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits
