Key Responsibilities – Your Daily Impact

In this contract position, you will act as the linchpin between patients, providers, and insurance entities. Your day‑to‑day duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Prior Authorization Management: Initiate, track, and follow up on medication and procedure authorizations with insurance carriers, ensuring timely approvals and minimizing treatment delays.
  • Referral Coordination: Accurately compile and transmit referral documentation to specialists, confirming receipt and maintaining a clear line of communication throughout the referral journey.
  • Patient Messaging & Communication: Review inbound patient messages within AthenaHealth, respond professionally, and triage urgent concerns to the appropriate clinical staff.
  • Prescription Refill Processing: Verify refill requests, cross‑check dosage and patient history, and complete orders in accordance with practice protocols and state regulations.
  • Outbound Patient Calls: Conduct follow‑up calls to address medication questions, appointment reminders, and post‑visit instructions, reinforcing the practice’s commitment to patient education.
