Key Responsibilities

As a Retail Customer Service Associate at blithequark, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service, utilizing consultative skills to understand each customer's individualized needs and providing solutions that meet their requirements
  • Taking orders, coordinating activities in the store, providing pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate blithequark products and services
  • Operating and maintaining a wide variety of equipment, moving boxes and equipment, stocking materials, managing the production queue and output, managing complex projects, managing retail supply, and completing assigned tasks based on priority
  • Demonstrating consultative behaviors in a retail environment to understand each customer's individualized need and providing customer expertise in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines
  • Ensuring all customer problems are resolved quickly and to the satisfaction of the customer, and taking complex customer orders using order systems and providing accurate pricing information
  • Assembling parcels and preparing goods for shipping by wrapping items in insulation, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels to parcels
  • Setting up and operating printing, binding, and other related equipment using customer-supplied original media and documents, and maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly retail store

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent education
  • 6+ months of specialized experience in a retail or customer-facing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
  • The ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods, and move and lift 55 pounds
  • The ability, on a consistent basis, to bend/twist at the waist and knees, and to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
  • The ability, on a consistent basis, to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure, and to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
  • The ability, on a consistent basis, to work with minimal supervision and report regularly to work and maintain established business hours in order to support the blithequark business

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Knowledge of printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines, and the ability to recommend appropriate blithequark products and services
  • Experience with operating and maintaining a wide variety of equipment, and the ability to move boxes and equipment, stock materials, and manage the production queue and output
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner
