The Opportunity: Remote Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Consultant

We are searching for a high‑energy, analytically‑driven Consultant‑Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) professional to join our rapidly evolving FP&A organization. Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Own Every Day

  • Strategic Business Case Development: Lead the creation of detailed financial models for home promotional offers, base‑retention initiatives, and new product launches, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Produce the final financial plan, monthly forecasts, and variance analysis for assigned business units, translating complex data into clear, concise presentations for senior leadership.
  • Performance Reporting & Insight Generation: Deliver monthly performance reports, KPI dashboards, and executive‑level briefings that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Capital Planning & Cash Flow Management: Build and maintain capital planning models, cash‑flow statements, and ad‑hoc analyses to support investment decisions and liquidity strategy.
  • Costing & Profitability Modeling: Design, maintain, and communicate profitability and costing models, collaborating with the Center of Excellence to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Data Architecture & Governance: Define data requirements, source reliable inputs, and champion best practices for data integrity across planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Risk & Opportunity Assessment: Proactively identify scenario‑based risks and growth opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate downside and capture upside.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, marketing, operations, and technology teams to gather insights, validate assumptions, and align financial objectives with market realities.
  • Communication & Storytelling: Translate quantitative findings into compelling narratives that drive decision‑making, using visualizations and clear language for diverse audiences.

Essential Qualifications – What You Must Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Four or more years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related consulting roles.
  • Expert‑level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data visualisation techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present sophisticated financial models and business cases.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and a passion for uncovering insights hidden in data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.

Preferred (But Not Mandatory) Qualifications – Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an MBA.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CFA.
  • Experience within the technology or telecommunications industry, understanding of market dynamics and regulatory considerations.
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise performance‑management tools: Essbase, Oracle Hyperion Planning, Smart View, or Hyperion Strategic Finance.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidelines.
  • Exposure to cost‑to‑serve analysis, customer churn modelling, and revenue‑recognition frameworks.
