About the Data Entry Specialist Role

- Collaborate with the Application Development team to execute data systems, assemble data streams, and foster reasonable data models.
- Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and support application, team, and business use cases.
- Design, enhance, and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects according to company standards.
- Develop data modeling solutions optimized for social, layered, and NoSQL databases.
- Maintain applied, logical, and physical data models alongside corresponding metadata.
- Establish best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.
- Identify opportunities for reuse of data models in new contexts.
- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.
- Assess data models and physical databases for changes and errors.
- Validate business data objects for accuracy and completion.
- Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose suitable solutions.
- Guide System Analysts, Architects, Programmers, and others on project limits and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
- Review modifications to existing software to improve efficiency and performance.
- Examine new application design and suggest remedies when required.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong academic record and a degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. You should have at least 10+ years of hands-on experience in data warehousing, with solid knowledge of various data modeling procedures for data warehousing, including 3NF, Layered, and hybrid approaches. Experience handling large-scale (100 TB+) data warehouses (DW)/operational data stores (ODS) is essential, along with critical experience in building data models for MPP, Social, and NoSQL technologies such as BigData, Hive, SQL*Server, Hadoop, Cassandra, Cloud DBs like Big Query or Snowflake.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a relevant field.
- Relevant industry experience (for example, retail, supply chain, E-commerce, healthcare, etc.).
- Experience with data modeling tools and technologies.
