About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team at Stratford School in Santa Clara, CA. As a Substitute Teacher, you'll play a vital role in inspiring young minds and creating a safe and nurturing learning environment. You'll work closely with our students, teachers, and parents to provide a high-quality education that prepares students to become creative problem-solvers, innovators, and confident, compassionate leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and engage students in a variety of subjects, including STEAM, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students improve
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed about student progress and any issues that may arise
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in education

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Valid teaching certification or substitute teaching permit
  • Proven experience in teaching and working with students of various ages and abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational setting

Preferred Qualifications

While the following qualifications are not essential, they would be highly desirable:

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field
  • Experience working in a private school setting
  • Knowledge of STEAM education and curriculum development
  • Fluency in a second language
  • Experience working with students with special needs
