About Our Team
Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead our mobile apps engineering team. As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing projects, ensuring their successful execution, and defining system requirements and objectives based on customer and stakeholder needs. You will manage budgets, finances, and risk, supervise one or more engineering teams, and coach, mentor, and motivate technical professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of mobile apps engineers and design and implement complex features in Walmart's mobile apps.
- Define the roadmap for the team by working closely with product and technology partners to build the experience for front-end and back-end platforms.
- Develop a deeper understanding of CI/CD frameworks to improve developer productivity.
- Focus on Test Automation and designing the framework for the same.
- Provide documentation for all solutions in place.
- Inspire best practices and create a culture of craftsmanship and innovation.
- Lead a team of senior Individual Contributors.
- Lead and participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, and gathering requested information.
- Support business objectives by collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities, addressing high-priority initiatives, and leading cross-functional partnerships.
- Utilize industry research to improve Walmart's technology environment by analyzing industry best practices, benchmarking industry against internal processes and solutions, and defining software development guidelines, standards, and processes.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- 10-12 years of mobile software development experience (mobile development preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in leading a team as a manager.
- Good delivery records for features in the hands of customers.
- Good delivery records for platform improvements.
- Sound experience in building CICD pipelines.
- Knowledge of integrating 3rd party services.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving capability.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area.
- Experience in creating inclusive digital experiences and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary, with an annual salary range of $143,000.00-$286,000.00, and additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Our benefits package includes:
