About the Role

This is a full-time, remote position serving students in South Carolina. As a Virtual Special Education Teacher with Soliant Education, you will be responsible for providing direct virtual instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting. You will work closely with other educators, staff, and parents to ensure the success of our students and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, direct virtual instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Collaborate with other educators, staff, and parents to ensure student success and progress.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, supportive learning environment that fosters social and academic growth.
  • Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and adjust instructional methods as needed to ensure optimal student performance.
  • Communicate regularly with families and school administration regarding student progress, providing updates and insights that inform instruction.
  • Participate in meetings and trainings as required by the school district, staying up-to-date on best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to all special education laws, regulations, and district policies, ensuring compliance and maintaining the highest standards of professional practice.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Hold a current South Carolina Multi-Categorical Special Education License, demonstrating your expertise in special education.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of onsite Special Education teaching experience in a classroom setting, showcasing your ability to work effectively with students with diverse needs.
  • Be comfortable teaching in a self-contained classroom with students of varying needs and abilities, adapting your instruction to meet the unique requirements of each student.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with educators, staff, and parents.
  • Be able to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Be willing to work as a 1099 Independent Contractor, taking advantage of the flexibility and autonomy that comes with this arrangement.
  • Possess general liability insurance, ensuring that you are adequately protected in your role.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • Previous virtual teaching experience, demonstrating your ability to adapt to the unique demands of online instruction.
