Trinity Health, one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare systems in the nation, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Privacy Coordinator to join their team on a remote basis. As a key member of the Integrity & Compliance Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient data, while promoting a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

About Trinity Health and the Role

As a Remote Privacy Coordinator, you will be responsible for handling a variety of routine to moderately complex matters or projects, collaborating with the Privacy Center of Expertise to ensure Electronic Health Record (EHR) monitoring, and resolving access issues and concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of complex, internal, and external privacy and administrative duties with a high degree of skill and accuracy.
  • Conduct periodic assessment activities to measure levels of risk and compliance throughout Trinity Health, in coordination with other operational assessments.
  • Utilize multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials, demonstrating knowledge of departmental processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate on performance improvement activities, identifying opportunities, developing solutions, and advising the team through resolution.
  • Manage and implement small-scale projects, programs, and initiatives, developing and managing aligned production, communications, service delivery plans, and workflows.
  • Prepare access monitoring outcome documentation for various committees and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and audit EHR access, investigating inappropriate access findings with HR regional partners, and assist with the implementation of new projects and procedures resulting from regulatory changes or new privacy initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of the monitoring program in the privacy database.
  • Work collaboratively with the EPIC business intelligence team on report troubleshooting and improvement efforts.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of healthcare experience, including Integrity and Audit Services.
  • Experience with computers, including MicroSoft 365, EMR technology, and database utilization.
  • Experience with EMR, such as EPIC.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Knowledge of Trinity Health operations and IT applications.
  • Compliance, Audit, and/or Privacy Certification.

  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program, and Code of Conduct.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Trinity Health offers a competitive salary range of $31.26 - $46.89 per hour, depending on experience. In addition to a comprehensive compensation package, you will have access to a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plans, and paid time off.
