Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Customer Service Representatives to join our team at blithequark, supporting the Department of Education's Federal Student Aid (FSA) Loan Servicing program. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for responding to incoming calls, chats, and emails, as well as making outbound calls to provide assistance with federal student aid loan servicing. Our comprehensive training program will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver exceptional customer service and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat, providing timely and accurate solutions to their problems
  • Utilize computerized systems for tracking, information gathering, and troubleshooting to resolve customer issues efficiently
  • Process requests received via general correspondence and notate accounts regarding actions taken in response to those requests
  • Support Contact Center expectations, as well as departmental and corporate policies and procedures
  • Maintain regular use of the feedback tool to give and receive constructive feedback on call quality and department tasks
  • Assist with Credit Bureau Requests utilizing established processes and procedures
  • Refer escalated calls or inquiries to appropriate levels as needed

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with at least 6 months of customer service experience
  • Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math and PC skills, including MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to organize simultaneous tasks
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Available to support all FSA programs via reassignment between programs (moving from one program to another), as needed

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a call center environment
  • Knowledge of federal student aid loan servicing programs and procedures
  • Experience with computerized systems for tracking and troubleshooting
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
