Job Overview

As a Lead Architect at blithequark, you will be responsible for leading the application of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles throughout the software development lifecycle. This will include domain analysis, modeling, and implementation, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and define bounded contexts, develop a ubiquitous language, and establish domain-driven patterns. Your expertise in DDD will drive the development of robust, domain-driven services that meet the evolving requirements of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the application of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles throughout the software development lifecycle, including domain analysis, modeling, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and define bounded contexts, develop a ubiquitous language, and establish domain-driven patterns to ensure alignment between software solutions and business domains.
  • Drive the creation of domain models that accurately represent complex business domains and facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leverage DDD best practices to design and develop scalable, maintainable, and extensible software systems that effectively address the organization’s evolving needs.
  • Facilitate discussions around new and emerging capabilities and help determine the best approach to modernize technologies to enable business solutions.
  • Synthesize current state processes, operating models, and ways of working to define new, digitally-aligned clarity on requirements.
  • Work across a diverse stakeholder group, driving consensus, and creating a shared understanding of detailed requirements in conjunction with technical delivery.
  • Conduct initial assessments of problem situations or articulate the capabilities needed to support the business.
  • Gather information about the business process through various methods (shadowing, interviews, surveys, reading reports, etc.).
  • Provide strategic support to clients in defining or designing business processes and help identify technologies based on client requirements.
  • Coordinate multi-system solutions to clarify interdependencies so that systems appear seamless to the user.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have proven experience with Domain-Driven Design or equivalent, as well as cloud (AWS) migration experience in a large enterprise environment. You should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong interpersonal and facilitation skills. Additionally, you will need to have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, an analytical mind with strong data collection and analysis skills, and demonstrated skills in process mapping, technical design, and proven problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, having in-depth knowledge of the airline industry principles would be highly beneficial in this role. Additionally, experience with Enterprise Business Process Modeling (BPM) and Business Capability Modeling (BCM) would be an asset.
