As a Medical Assistant with our practice, you'll play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient experiences, working closely with our team of 19 providers to deliver comprehensive care to adults.
About Our Practice
Our Internal and Family Medicine department is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. With a broad range of patient needs, we're looking for a versatile Medical Assistant who can multitask at the highest level, prioritize effectively, and maintain strong computer skills. As part of our team, you'll be working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on adult care, and you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive and collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide an exceptional customer experience in a team-based environment, working closely with physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with patient safety, performing phlebotomy, point of care testing, and minor procedures, as well as processing lab specimens and operating medical equipment.
- Handle and administer medications according to regulatory standards and organizational policies, under the direct supervision of a physician or physician assistant.
- Collect, communicate, and document accurate patient information/data, maintaining medical records according to regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Coordinate requests for information and prescriptions, and maintain patient care areas to ensure efficient, effective, and safe patient care delivery.
- Work flexibly, including late hours, holidays, and weekends, as required.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A High School Diploma or GED, with completion of a medical assisting program or postsecondary medical assisting program accredited to prepare for national certification (CMA, CCMA, or RMA) preferred.
- Medical Assistant experience in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Primary Care, although not required.
- EPIC experience or other Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support) certification, to be obtained within the first 90 days of hire.
- Medical terminology, communication skills, and basic knowledge of computers.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications will be considered advantageous:
- CMA (American Association of Medical Assisting), CCMA (National Health Career Association), or RMA (American Medical Technologists) certification.
- 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a physician's office or hospital outpatient department.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced medical environment with a team of healthcare professionals.

Compensation and Benefits
