Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced medical transcriptionist to join our team as an independent contractor. As a transcriptionist with IMT, you will be responsible for transcribing complex IME dictations and medical records, utilizing your knowledge of medical terminology, grammar, punctuation, and formatting skills. Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe complex IME dictations and medical records with high accuracy and attention to detail
• Utilize Microsoft Word to create and edit documents, including template setup and specific formatting operations
• Conduct research to ensure accuracy and completeness of transcribed documents

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following essential qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in medical transcription, preferably with a focus on IMEs and record reviews
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Excellent grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including advanced formatting features and template setup
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
• Strong research skills and attention to detail
• High-speed internet connection with a download speed of 50 Mbps or higher
• USB foot pedal and a program capable of playing DSS voice files (such as Express Scribe)

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with IME transcription and record summaries
• Experience creating complicated tables and utilizing Word's higher-level formatting functions
