As a Data Analyst II, you'll play a pivotal role in our Data Ventures team, working at the intersection of data, technology, and business to drive meaningful insights and inform product development.

Job Overview

We're seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst II to join our Data Ventures team at blithequark. As a Data Analyst II, you'll be responsible for researching, gathering, and analyzing customer data to drive business strategies and improve product development. You'll work closely with various stakeholders across the organization to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and develop data-driven solutions to address them.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and product partners to identify and solve complex business problems
• Apply quantitative analysis, data mining, and data visualization techniques to drive business insights
• Define and evaluate key performance metrics for new product launches
• Develop data visualizations to monitor and measure the impact of product initiatives and business challenges
• Identify new opportunities to improve financial data insights and understand underlying drivers for change in metrics
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, including hypothesis testing, statistical inference, and statistical analysis
• Work with data stewards and data engineering teams to gather and process data from various sources
• Communicate complex data insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess a strong foundation in data analysis, statistics, and data visualization. Here are the essential qualifications we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or a related field
• Strong exploratory data analysis skills and ability to make logical, data-driven recommendations
• Experience with languages used to manipulate data and extract insights from large datasets (SQL, Python, Presto, etc.)
• Strong storytelling skills with data visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications can give you a competitive edge:

• Graduate degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience with data quality tools like Google DataPlex, Collibra Data Quality, or SAS Data Management
• Experience with quality testing using Selenium, Cucumber, or Tosca
• Experience building multi-step ETL jobs/data pipelines and working with job scheduling frameworks
• Experience handling complex data on cloud platforms (Google Bigquery, Hive, etc.)
• Experience with Data Modeling (E-R) and strong BI concepts
