We are now seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to lead our Safety and Security team in creating cutting-edge data products and driving strategic initiatives.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Scientist in our Safety and Security team at Blithequark, you will have a profound impact on our growth and development. You will lead a team of full-stack data scientists and perform hands-on execution to drive the creation of top-notch data products and tools. Your mission will be to build a world-class Security data warehouse and data instruments to provide tailored solutions and meet a wide range of evolving needs, including scalable and high-quality metric reporting, regulatory compliance, product insights, and enforcement experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand data user requirements to design data pipelines and tooling, collaborating with partners including Safety data scientists, Implementation, Product, and Engineering teams, Trust and Security Policy, and Legal.
  • Own and work on metric reporting, metric validation, and new metric development for Blithequark's transparency reporting and regulatory reporting.
  • Review and revamp the existing data warehouse with a focus on improving data quality, data reliability, and pipeline visibility.
  • Increase the Safety data science team's productivity through automation, ETL systems, and agile processes.
  • Collaborate with extensive data science teams in building shared data systems and tooling.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Python proficiency and solid SQL capability.
  • 4+ years of experience working with large-scale ETL systems (execution, process, and support).
  • 4+ years of non-temporary professional experience building clean, effective, object-oriented code (Python preferred) in a production environment.
  • Experience as a database administrator or architect with large-scale data warehouse systems like Google BigQuery.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional partners at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Capability with Wind stream or similar data/ETL tools in a production environment.
  • Involvement in public/regulatory metric reporting.

Compensation and Benefits Transparency

We believe in transparency when it comes to compensation and benefits. The base salary range for this role is $35-45 per year. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, may also be eligible to receive a commission. We also offer a wide range of benefits to U.S.-based employees, including clinical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) program with employer match, liberal downtime for vacation, and parental leave.
