Coordinator of Systems & Licensing, Libraries
About the position
Responsibilities
• Administrates and troubleshoots the Libraries' cloud-based systems, including software-as-a-service, licensed content platforms, and databases.
• Reviews contracts and licensing, making recommendations to the Dean of Libraries regarding renewals and payments.
• Builds and maintains relationships with vendors to obtain product and pricing information, negotiating favorable terms.
• Maintains licensing terms and manages library electronic resources, providing budget updates as part of Library Leadership Team operations.
• Develops procedures and policies related to collection and access development of library collections.
• Oversees staff in electronic resources licensing renewal and billing, mentoring them in their responsibilities.
• Provides statistics and usage metrics to the Dean of Libraries and liaison librarians as requested.
• Designs outreach plans for the community, including trials for new resources and providing cost comparisons.
• Participates in university governance activities and stays updated on emerging technologies and best practices.
Requirements
• MLS / MLIS from an American Library Association accredited program or relevant experience with a non-ALA accredited degree.
• Two years of experience administering cloud-based integrated systems in a library setting.
• Two years of experience developing and managing webpages and online content.
• Two years of experience managing electronic resources access and licensing in a library setting.
• One year of experience leading teams or supervising in a library setting.
Nice-to-haves
• ALMA Certification
• Experience with ALMA/Primo, webpage coding, LibWizard, Digital Commons/BePress, EZ Proxy
• Three or more years managing and administering Library Systems/Platforms and digital content licensing
• Proficient knowledge of CSS and programming languages such as Python, PHP.
