Role Description

We're seeking a talented Event Marketing Strategist to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications campaign for a prestigious biannual conference hosted by a leading Christian university. This is your chance to shape the narrative, drive attendance, and broaden university representation for an event that's a presidential priority.
• Develop a cohesive marketing and communications strategy for the September 2026 conference.
• Ensure messaging consistency with the university's brand guidelines and ongoing paid media initiatives.
• Drive increased attendance, aiming to reach the conference cap of 250 attendees from the previous ~150.
• Broaden university representation among conference attendees.
• Create essential event collateral, including postcards, presentation slides, and printed programs.
• Develop a faculty "share kit" to empower faculty to effectively promote the event.
• Design and execute an email campaign, leveraging purchased lists (including USNWR voter lists) and internal university audiences.
• Provide recommendations for paid media across platforms like LinkedIn, social media, and programmatic advertising, contingent on budget availability.
Qualifications
• Strong communication skills: The ability to clearly articulate marketing strategies and translate complex ideas for diverse stakeholders.
• Consultative approach: Patience and expertise in educating stakeholders on marketing best practices and impact.
• Balanced perspective: Comfort in managing executive priorities while maintaining a realistic focus on marketing outcomes.
• Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing and communications plans for events.
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms and best practices.
• Understanding of paid media strategies across various digital channels.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.

• Hourly Rate: $60/hour
