Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Reading Specialists to support and deliver reading instruction to small groups of students
- Adapt and modify instruction using the regular education curriculum and/or implement instruction using the modified curriculum under the direction of the teacher
- Assist students with independent assignments, enrichment work, and other activities as assigned by the teacher
- Support students in various classes, including those outside of their homeroom class
- Observe student behavior and performance, providing valuable insights to teachers
- Assist substitute teachers in the absence of the regular teacher and potentially serve as a substitute teacher with prior permission
- Collaborate with teachers to develop instructional strategies and materials for student use
- Participate in workshops and conferences to enhance professional knowledge and skills
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current Professional Educator License with Stipulations (PARA)
- A current Professional Educator License (PEL) is preferred
- A high level of ethical behavior, confidentiality, and professionalism
- The ability to work harmoniously and effectively with teachers, students, parents, and district administrators
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with students in a reading support capacity
- Knowledge of reading instruction methodologies and assessments
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
