About the Role: Per Diem Nurse Instructor for CNA Program
We're seeking experienced and compassionate Per Diem Nurse Instructors to join our team and play a vital role in shaping the next generation of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). As a Per Diem Nurse Instructor, you'll have the flexibility to work on a part-time basis, with a focus on teaching Skills Lab and Clinical rotations to our students. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in teaching, develop your skills, and make a difference in the lives of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Skills Lab and Clinical rotations to CNA students, ensuring they are practice-ready and meet all state regulations for certification.
- Provide daily feedback to students in real-time and post-clinical conferences to enhance their learning experience.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and skills checklists, as required by state regulations.
- Participate in scheduled meetings with theory instructors and program directors to discuss student progress and program updates.
- Continuously seek out educational opportunities for students in the clinical setting to enhance their learning experience.
- Stay current with new technologies and safety regulations, incorporating them into your teaching practices.
- Assist with updating and maintaining student files, including clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirements.
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain CE hours and ensure renewed licensure.
- Submit required program reports and forms to the Program Director in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, with one year in providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an Acute Care Hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long-term care setting.
- Verifiable experience demonstrating current knowledge of nursing practice, ability to mentor students, and strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, including Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS Office products as needed.
- Current state-required immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.
- Successful completion of State Board training (if required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in a nursing or healthcare program.
- Experience with online teaching platforms and activities.
- Knowledge of innovative methodologies and techniques in teaching.
