As an Academic Tutor, you will be an integral part of this program, working closely with students, faculty, and staff to provide academic support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group academic tutoring to students in various subjects, including Developmental Reading, Writing, English, Math, and English as a Second Language (ESL).
• Assist students with note-taking, study skills, and review of online content, including syllabi and course materials.
• Utilize the fully integrated computerized information system (Ellucian) to maintain accurate records and track student progress.
• Develop and implement effective tutoring strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Collaborate with Program Director, Retention Specialist, and other tutors to ensure seamless delivery of services.
• Participate in tutor training meetings and staff development sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to program policies and procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following qualifications:

• A high school diploma and four to five years of related experience or required coursework/certification and/or specialized skills/training.
• Or a combination of education and related experience for a total of four to five years.
• A high school diploma and completion of at least 30 credit hours at the collegiate level with an overall average of "B" or better (or GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale) in major courses.
• Earned a grade of "A" in specific courses to serve as a tutor.
• Experience as a tutor or prior transferable experience preferred.
